CEBAT S.p.A. is an Italian utility infrastructure services company founded in 1961 and headquartered in Rome. The group designs, builds and maintains electricity, water and telecommunications networks that are critical for upgrading and reinforcing national and regional infrastructure. Its activities span high‑voltage underground transmission links, medium- and low‑voltage distribution networks, water and sewerage pipelines, fibre‑optic networks, lighting systems and related civil and electrical works. CEBAT structures its operations around end‑markets including high voltage, medium and low voltage, water, renewables, lighting and special projects, and offers service lines covering cable laying, construction, global service frameworks, inspection and specialist services.
The company is a key contractor to major Italian utilities and network operators such as Terna, Enel, Hera, Iren, Acea and TIM, and works with Tier 1 players in renewable energy and hyperscale data centres as well as Prysmian and RFI. It has delivered more than 300 projects over six decades, including HVDC and HVAC interconnections such as Italy–France (Piemonte–Savoia), Italy–Montenegro, SA.PE.I., and numerous primary substation and distribution upgrades, as well as turnkey high‑voltage connections for data centres and photovoltaic plants. Through its controlled affiliate Quadrifoglio Drilling Srl, CEBAT also provides horizontal directional drilling for submarine power and water pipelines, including landfalls in Greece, the Canary Islands and multiple sites along the Amalfi Coast.
With 2023 revenues exceeding €200 million, more than 1,000 employees and 15 operational hubs across Italy, Spain and Germany, CEBAT plays an enabling role in Europe’s energy transition by supporting grid expansion, undergrounding and smart grid and metering deployments. In 2024 Tikehau Capital’s private equity decarbonisation strategy acquired a majority stake in the company from Oaktree Capital. CEBAT is an active participant in the UN Global Compact, signalling commitments around human rights, labour, environment and anti‑corruption in its operations.
