SALT 301 offshore construction / installation vessel of about 145.6 m LOA, built at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway, with an unobstructed cargo deck of approx. 2,600 m² and deck load capacity of 9,200 t, a 400 t active heave compensated knuckle-boom crane, helideck (D-value 20.88 m), DP3 capability and a below-deck 4,500 t cable turntable; under DEME’s ownership the vessel is being used for offshore wind cable installation, with plans to add a second large-capacity cable turntable on deck.
Diesel-electric plant with 6 x Wärtsilä 6L32 (3,300 kW) and 2 x Wärtsilä 8L20 (1,480 kW) diesel engines driving generators (6 x 3,170 kW and 2 x 1,405 kW, total approx. 21,800 kW), powering 2 x 6,000 kW controllable pitch propellers aft.
Vessel upgraded with a Wärtsilä hybrid propulsion solution including two 870 kWh battery packs and two 2.7 MW drives integrated with existing Wärtsilä engines and Low Loss Concept electrical systems to enable single-generator DP operation, reduce fuel consumption, emissions and engine running hours.
