Cable Lay Vessel(N class)
Owner: BW MARINE CYPRUS LTD · Operator: Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V.

Ndurance entered service in 2013. The vessel was built by Samsung C&T and Shanghai Zhenhua (ZPMC) for Royal Boskalis Westminster and is one of the N‑Class multipurpose vessels alongside sistership Ndeavor; Boskalis operates the ship and has used it primarily for cable-lay assignments since delivery. Ndurance is a diesel-electric DP2 cable-laying multipurpose vessel fitted with MTU Series 4000 gensets arranged in two separate engine rooms to provide redundancy and to allow for future DP3 capability. Its propulsion includes multiple azimuth thrusters and a bow thruster for station-keeping, and key deck equipment comprises a 26 m diameter cable carousel (reported 5,000 t capacity), a 25 t crane (SWL at 25 m), an A-frame and about 2,100 m2 of deck space, with accommodation for 98 persons. Boskalis deploys Ndurance worldwide in offshore energy projects, principally for cable installation such as inter-array, export and interconnector works and associated subsea operations. The vessel’s modular deck design and robust power generation also allow temporary reconfiguration for tasks such as rock installation, dredging support or provision of accommodation during construction campaigns.
Diesel electric propulsion system with dynamic positioning DP-2, total installed power 7,500 kW and main engines rated at 7,280 kW, driving 2 x 1,250 kW and 2 x 1,000 kW azimuth thrusters plus 1 x 550 kW bow thruster.
