On 23 May 2025, an initial testing phase began for the Îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind project, during which the first Siemens Gamesa turbines and the RTE-developed grid connection infrastructure (including offshore and onshore components) were tested prior to exporting power to the French national grid. This system testing marked the final commissioning stretch for the Yeu-Noirmoutier Export transmission system ahead of first power and full operation later in 2025.
