SSEN Transmission’s 2025 Shetland AC Connections timeline indicates that a marine survey campaign for the Yell HVAC connection subsea cable between Yell and mainland Shetland is scheduled for 2026. This planned survey, forming part of wider subsea cable route refinement and associated onshore design work, will provide the seabed and environmental data required to finalise the route and detailed engineering for the Yell subsea cable.
