Xlinks' PEIR indicates that pre-lay route-preparation activities (for example, route clearance, boulder removal and limited seabed preparation) are provisionally scheduled to take place in 2027 ahead of cable lay operations. These works would be undertaken if required by burial and pre-lay assessments and may be subject to separate consents and contractor-specific methods to prepare the corridor for cable installation.
