design, supply and installation of the wind farm's inter-array cable grid; installation of 29 kilometres of inter-array cables
Iberdrola contracted Van Oord to transport and install 21 XL monopile foundations and transition pieces for the 21 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at the 315 MW Windanker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea. Under the same contract, Van Oord was also responsible for the design, supply and installation of the wind farm's 66 kV inter-array cable grid. The inter-array cable installation scope was described as 29 kilometres at the project site, with Van Oord planning to use its cable-laying vessel Nexus and the Dig-It trencher to bury the cables to the required depth; monopile installation was to be performed with the heavy-lift vessel Svanen.
