Transmission system operator 50Hertz approved the submarine cable route for Iberdrola’s Windanker offshore wind farm, authorising the connection of the project’s offshore substation, located about 24 kilometres offshore, to the German national grid. This authorisation, reported in late June 2024, was described as a critical milestone enabling the grid connection of the wind farm.
