In September 2022, Iberdrola signed an agreement to sell a 49% equity stake in the Wikinger offshore wind farm to Swiss infrastructure investor Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) for €700 million, valuing the 350 MW project at about €1.425 billion. Iberdrola retained a 51% majority stake and operational control, while EIP became a minority partner, with the acquisition financed via approximately €400 million of holdco debt arranged by lenders including Goldman Sachs, Rabobank and SEB.
