The Wikinger offshore wind farm entered full commercial operation at the end of 2017, when Iberdrola successfully connected the 350 MW project to the German national grid and began supplying electricity to around 350,000 homes in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, displacing nearly 600,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
