Onshore construction for the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm began in April 2013 with the start of underground cable works, including installation of cable ducts to a depth of up to 12 m along the export route between the landfall at Tunstall and the new Ferndale onshore substation on Staithes Road, Hedon, for connection to the UK national grid.
