Offshore foundation installation at the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm began in January 2014, when GeoSea’s installation vessel Innovation started installing the first monopile foundations transported from Aalborg, Denmark, each up to 6.5 m in diameter and 800 t in weight, marking the start of the main offshore construction phase for the 35 Siemens 6 MW turbines.
