Ramboll was subcontracted by the Westermost Rough project developer to design the offshore substation platform forming part of the Westermost Rough transmission assets. Its scope covered the detailed structural and electrical layout of the HVAC offshore substation, including accommodation of transformers, switchgear, auxiliary systems and control rooms, ensuring compliance with UK offshore transmission and grid code requirements. This design work underpinned subsequent fabrication of the topside and jacket structure and the integration of high-voltage equipment prior to transfer of the completed transmission assets into the Westermost Rough OFTO regime.
