On 18 July 2011, nkt cables signed a contract with DONG Energy and ScottishPower Renewables to supply onshore and offshore high-voltage cables for the West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm. The deal covers manufacturing and delivery of 82 km of 155 kV export subsea cable with integrated fibre optics and 22 km of 155 kV land cable, plus installation of 155 kV accessories, with production scheduled for 2012–2013 and installation in 2013.
