Installation of 2 x ~41 km 170 kV three-core subsea export cables forming the West of Duddon Sands offshore transmission link between the OSP and shore.
Visser & Smit was contracted during the construction phase to install the offshore export cables for the West of Duddon Sands Transmission Assets. The company installed the two approximately 41 km, 170 kV three-core subsea cables between the offshore substation platform in the East Irish Sea and the landfall near Heysham. Its scope covered marine cable laying and associated offshore installation activities, enabling the completion of the HVAC export connection that links the wind farm’s offshore substation into the onshore transmission network.
