In December 2012, Ofgem launched Tranche B of OFTO Tender Round 2, which included the West of Duddon Sands transmission assets alongside London Array, Lincs and Gwynt y Mor. This formally initiated the competitive tender process to appoint an independent Offshore Transmission Owner for the WoDS export system. The process concluded with Ofgem granting the OFTO licence to WoDS Transmission plc on 21 August 2015.
