The West of Duddon Sands (WoDS) Transmission Assets, comprising the offshore substation platform, two export cable circuits and the onshore substation connection into National Grid’s Heysham substation in Lancashire, were under construction and scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2014, providing the 382 MW export link for the WoDS wind farm. Later documentation describing the West of Duddon Sands offshore export cable route as operational confirms that the transmission system subsequently entered service as planned.
