The UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy approved Walney Extension Limited’s Decommissioning Programme for the Walney Extension project on 7 September 2017, fulfilling the developer’s obligations under Section 105(2) of the Energy Act 2004 to set out how the offshore wind farm and associated transmission assets will be decommissioned at end of life.
