Van Oord completed its scope for the Walney Extension offshore wind farm on 11 August 2017, finishing the installation of scour protection and all 87 monopile foundations at the project site in the Irish Sea off Walney Island. The campaign, executed using the vessels Aeolus and Svanen, delivered the foundations for the 659MW wind farm within a tight schedule.
