Description
NKT supplied and commissioned the high-voltage submarine cable system that forms the export and associated transmission links for the 659 MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm, whose transmission assets are operated as the Walney Extension OFTO. The company’s delivery comprised more than 139 km of high-voltage submarine power cable for the project in the Irish Sea, covering the offshore transmission connection between the Walney Extension offshore substations and the UK onshore grid. This role took place during the construction and commissioning phase of the OFTO transmission link.
