A bathymetric inspection survey covering all 102 turbine positions, inter-array cables and the two substations at the Walney 1 and Walney 2 offshore wind farms was scheduled to start on or around 11 May 2017. The work was to be carried out over approximately 7–9 days on a daylight-only basis by Bibby Hydromap’s 15-metre survey catamaran LIA, with mariners requested to maintain a 500-metre clearance due to the use of sensitive multibeam echo sounding equipment.
