On 6 August 2009, DONG Energy awarded Seabed Power two major EPCI contracts for the Walney Offshore Windfarm, covering transportation, laying and burial of more than 92 km of 33 kV array cables and 44 km plus 43 km of 132 kV export cables on two routes. The contracts span both Walney 1 and Walney 2 in the Irish Sea, with Seabed Power’s offshore installation activities scheduled to commence in April 2010 for Walney 1 and April 2011 for Walney 2.
