In 2009, the Walney (UK) Offshore Windfarms Ltd developer entered into a contract with Visser and Smit (V&S) to install the subsea export cable for both the Walney 1 and Walney 2 projects, covering the offshore installation of the transmission export circuits later transferred to the Walney 2 OFTO.
