A bathymetric inspection survey covering all 102 turbine positions, inter-array (infield) cables and the two substations at the Walney 1 and 2 offshore wind farms was scheduled to start on or around 11 May 2017. The work was to be carried out over approximately 7–9 days on a daylight-only basis by Bibby Hydromap’s 15m survey catamaran LIA, using highly sensitive multibeam echo sounding equipment, with mariners requested to maintain a 500m clearance and reduce speed when passing.
