On 21 October 2011, Walney Windfarms Limited, owned by DONG Energy, SSE and OPW (the PGGM/Ampère Equity Fund joint venture), completed financial close on the divestment of the Walney 1 offshore transmission assets to Blue Transmission Walney 1 Limited, the OFTO licensee formed by Macquarie Capital Group and a Barclays infrastructure fund, for approximately GBP 105 million under Ofgem’s competitive tender regime.
