Description
ABB/AREVA supplied and installed the main mechanical and electrical equipment on the Walney 1 offshore substation for DONG Walney (UK) Ltd. The scope comprised two 120 MVA 132/33 kV transformers and associated 132 kV GIS switchgear, together with other auxiliary equipment, providing the transformation and switching needed to collect 33 kV power from the wind farm and export it at 132 kV to the onshore grid. Their contract formed part of the construction and commissioning of the single offshore substation asset transferred to the OFTO.
