On 6 August 2009, DONG Energy awarded Seabed Power two contracts for the transportation, laying, and burial of more than 92km of 33kV array cables and 44km and 43km of 132kV export cables on two routes for the Walney offshore wind farm, covering installation of the subsea export cable system that includes the Walney 1 OFTO link between the offshore substation and landfall near Heysham.
