NIRAS was appointed alongside Intertek as a marine consultant to support permitting for the Viking Link HVDC interconnector. NIRAS’ scope included environmental consultancy input to the EIA, stakeholder engagement and regulatory permitting across jurisdictions, contributing to route selection and consenting for the offshore cable system (reported as c.600–700 km). The appointment was announced in January 2016.
