National Grid Viking Link confirmed its preferred onshore sites for the UK scheme on 22 August 2016. The announcement identified Boygrift (East Lindsey) as the preferred landfall and North Ing Drove (South Holland) as the preferred converter station site after Phase 1 consultation with local authorities, stakeholders and residents. The decision followed assessment of environmental, technical and community feedback and informed subsequent onshore route and planning work for the UK onshore elements of the Viking Link interconnector.
