NKT was awarded an onshore high-voltage cable contract for Viking Link on 23 July 2019. The contract comprised the supply of approximately 150 km of 525 kV mass-impregnated (MI) HVDC onshore cables to connect the Danish and British transmission grids for the project; NKT stated manufacture would take place at its Karlskrona facility.
