Prysmian’s cable-laying vessel Leonardo da Vinci commenced the final offshore cable-laying campaign in April 2023 to install the remaining bundled sections required to close the Viking Link across the mid‑North Sea. The vessel planned to recover and joint the mid-sea cable ends, perform the “Omega joint” on deck and deploy the completed joint to the seabed before final burial and end‑to‑end HV testing.
