The Danish Energy Agency, acting as the national energy regulator, awarded a permit in December 2020 to commence construction of the Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd project, authorising Vattenfall and its partners to proceed with building the offshore wind farms and associated transmission infrastructure, including the 60–66 kV export cable system linking the offshore turbines to the onshore grid connection points at Idomlund and Stovtrup.
