'Venezia - Murano - Mestre' - ENEL, Italy (2001) - 150 kV, 1x1000 mm2 First 150 kV (dry design)
Prysmian Group supplied the first 150 kV dry-design submarine power cable system for the Venezia–Murano–Mestre link in the Venice lagoon. Working for the Italian utility ENEL, Prysmian developed and engineered the new 150 kV dry-design cable (1x1000 mm²) and manufactured the submarine cables used to connect the island of Murano with the Mestre/mainland area. The project, delivered around 2001, formed part of the reinforcement of the local transmission network serving the Venice islands and mainland, and is highlighted by Prysmian as a key historical milestone in its high-voltage submarine cable track record.
