Description
Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH (SOC) was awarded the turnkey EPIC package for the inner array grid (inter-array) cable system at the 400 MW (402 MW) Veja Mate offshore wind farm in the German Bight. SOC’s scope covered engineering/procurement and the offshore installation of the 33 kV MVAC submarine composite inter-array cables, including associated materials and services such as cable protection systems and related accessories, as well as post-installation termination, trenching/burial, testing and commissioning support. SOC installed 73 composite submarine power cables totaling about 97 km using the cable lay vessel Siem Aimery and installation support vessel Siem Moxie, with installation and post-lay burial activities completed ahead of schedule.
