Turbine installation at the Veja Mate Offshore Wind Farm was completed on 25 May 2017. The project consists of 67 Siemens SWT‑6.0‑154 turbines, each rated at 6 MW, giving a total capacity of 402 MW. According to published project information, the last turbine was installed on 25 May 2017, with commissioning activities for the full wind farm completed shortly afterwards on 31 May 2017. Earlier, Copenhagen Offshore Partners had reported that the first turbine began supplying power to the German grid in January 2017, with remaining turbines being installed and commissioned using the installation vessels Fred. Olsen’s Bold Tern and Seajacks’ Scylla from the Port of Esbjerg. The farm exports power via the BorWin2 offshore converter to the onshore Diele substation.
