In July 2022, the investor consortium comprising Commerz Real, Ingka Group and KGAL acquired the remaining 20% equity stake in the Veja Mate offshore wind farm from Siemens Financial Services, acting through Siemens Project Ventures. Offshorewind.biz reported on 11 July 2022 that the consortium had completed the purchase of this final stake; a subsequent legal advisory note from Watson Farley & Williams confirmed the transaction. As a result, the consortium’s joint venture vehicle VM Offshore Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH came to hold 100% of the shares in Veja Mate Offshore Project GmbH, the project company owning the 402 MW wind farm located about 95 km northwest of Borkum. Following the deal, Commerz Real became the largest shareholder with around 36% after investing €70 million in this tranche, Ingka Investments increased its stake to roughly 33% with an additional €62 million investment, and KGAL, via its KGAL ESPF4 fund, held the remaining approximately 31%. Siemens Gamesa remained involved as full‑service provider under a long‑term O&M agreement.
