Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH (SOC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Siem Offshore Inc., was awarded a turnkey EPCI contract for the inner array grid cable system for the 400 MW Veja Mate Offshore Wind Farm. Announced on 9 April 2015, the package covers supply and installation of up to 97 km of 33 kV MVAC submarine composite inter-array cables to connect 67 Siemens 6 MW turbines, including cable protection systems, accessories, post-installation termination, trenching and testing services. SOC will use vessels and resources from the Siem Offshore group to execute the work, with offshore cable installation scheduled to begin in 2016 and the project planned online before the end of 2017.
