On 6 July 2015, JDR Cable Systems was awarded a subcontract by Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH to supply the inter-array submarine composite power cables for the Veja Mate Offshore Wind Farm. Under the contract, JDR will design and manufacture up to 97 km of 33 kV MVAC submarine composite cables to interconnect the 67 Siemens 6 MW turbines, along with hang-offs, connectors and other cable accessories. JDR’s Global Services division will also provide topside termination and testing services. All equipment will be manufactured and deployed from JDR’s Hartlepool facility in the UK, supporting the turnkey inner-array grid package being delivered by Siem Offshore Contractors.
