ABB (now Hitachi Energy) was contracted to supply and build the HVDC Light system for the Valhall power‑from‑shore link, providing onshore and offshore converter stations connected by a 292–294 km submarine cable that transmits 78 MW of power from the southern Norwegian mainland grid to the Valhall offshore field complex.
