In June 2009, Equinor (then Statoil) completed installation of the single 2.3 MW Hywind Demo turbine—now Unitech Zefyros—on its floating spar foundation at the METCentre test site approximately 10 km off Karmøy, Norway, marking the physical completion of turbine installation for the demonstrator project.
