By the end of October 2019, the FWT Zefyros (formerly Hywind Demo) had been selected as the grid connection point and hub for the TetraSpar full-scale floating wind turbine demonstrator outside Karmøy. Under a supply contract signed with the TetraSpar Demonstrator Project, UNITECH Offshore will provide a dynamic power cable and grid connection, with Zefyros’s existing export link to shore used to route power from the new turbine as part of the Sustainable Energy Norwegian Catapult Center infrastructure.
