Amprion and Energinet, working jointly on the first North Sea hybrid interconnector between Germany and Denmark, are targeting commissioning of the project in the late 2030s to early 2040s, subject to permitting, offshore wind deployment and supply-chain developments; this would mark the start of full commercial operation and provision of additional cross-border trade capacity and integration of 4 GW of Danish offshore wind via two HVDC connections.
