TuNur’s 2,000 MW "TuNur Italy" HVDC interconnector, linking a hybrid renewable facility in Southern Tunisia to Terna’s network at Montalto di Castro in Italy, has a planned design and engineering phase scheduled for 2025–2026. This late-development stage is intended to follow feasibility work and precede permitting, financing, and the 2029–2034 construction phase, forming part of the project’s published roadmap toward operation from 2034.
