According to TuNur, the 2,000 MW TuNur Italy HVDC interconnector between Southern Tunisia and Montalto di Castro in Italy is planned to undergo its main construction phase from 2029 to 2034, covering installation of AC and DC overhead lines in Tunisia, the +/-525 kV DC submarine cables, and associated underground cables and converter station works in Italy, ahead of planned operation in 2034.
