Equinor and its partners Petoro, TotalEnergies, Shell and ConocoPhillips defined the Trollvind project site as a ~1 GW floating offshore wind farm in the Troll area of the North Sea, about 65 km west of Bergen and near Kollsnes, in water depths of 250–400 m, intended to supply power to the Troll and Oseberg fields and the Bergen region via an onshore connection point.
