Turnkey supply and installation of over 110 km of 145 kV high-voltage AC offshore power cable system, including dynamic sections, to provide power from shore from Kollsnes to the Troll B and Troll C platforms as part of the Troll West electrification project.
NKT was awarded a turnkey contract by Equinor Energy AS, on behalf of the Troll Unit partners, to design, manufacture and install the offshore high‑voltage AC cable system for the Troll West electrification (Troll B and C) project. The scope covers a 132 kV subsea power‑from‑shore system running from the onshore grid connection at Kollsnes to the Troll B floating platform and onward to Troll C, including three dynamic sections linking the floating platforms to static seabed cables. NKT’s Karlskrona, Sweden plant is responsible for producing the submarine cables, which total around 216 km of HVAC cable across two parallel circuits along an approximately 108 km offshore route, and the cable‑laying vessel NKT Victoria is used for installation. The contract, valued at about EUR 95 million, underpins partial electrification of Troll B and full electrification of Troll C from shore.
