"...supply and installation of two approximately 50 km long export cables... with the export cables forming part of the offshore transmission system that would later be transferred to the Triton Knoll OFTO."
NKT Cables, working in consortium with Boskalis subsidiary VBMS, was selected as preferred supplier and later EPCI contractor for the Triton Knoll export cable system, which now forms the Triton Knoll OFTO transmission link. The scope covers design, manufacture and offshore installation of two 220 kV HVAC subsea export cable circuits, each about 50 km long, transmitting power from the Triton Knoll offshore substations to landfall north of Anderby Creek. NKT produced approximately 100 km of three-core XLPE-insulated subsea export cable and supported offshore installation activities alongside VBMS under contract to Innogy as Triton Knoll’s developer. These export cables are part of the offshore transmission assets subsequently transferred to Triton Knoll OFTO Limited under Ofgem’s TR7 regime.
