two 220 kV subsea export cable circuits (approximately 50km in length), which connect to two onshore cable circuits (of approximately 57km in length)
EDS HV Group (Electricity Distribution Services, part of the James Fisher & Sons group) was appointed by Triton Knoll OFTO Limited to provide long-term operation and maintenance services for the Triton Knoll OFTO transmission assets during the operational phase. The scope covers the full OFTO network, including two offshore 66/220 kV substations, two 220 kV subsea export cable circuits of approximately 50 km each, two onshore 220 kV cable circuits of approximately 57 km each, the onshore 220/400 kV substation, and the two 400 kV links to National Grid’s Bicker Fen substation. EDS is responsible for ensuring high-voltage network availability, fault response, inspection, testing and condition-based maintenance across both offshore and onshore assets. This role spans cable_oam for the subsea export system, onshore_cable_oam for the underground export and 400 kV links, and operations and maintenance of the offshore and onshore substations for the 23‑year OFTO license period, supporting reliable transmission of power from the Triton Knoll wind farm into the GB grid.
