On 10 June 2021, BlueFloat Energy announced the Parc Tramuntana floating offshore wind project off Empordà in Catalonia and stated that it had partnered with Spanish engineering group Sener to develop the 1 GW scheme, planned in two 500 MW phases. Subsequent project information from Sener confirms that Parc Tramuntana is being promoted by a joint venture/consortium between BlueFloat Energy and Sener Renewable Investments, which are collaborating on project engineering and environmental studies.
