Description
On 25 April 2023, HSM Offshore Energy (part of the Smulders Group) was awarded by RWE the EPCIC contract for the Thor Offshore High Voltage Substation (OHVS), covering "engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the offshore high voltage substation and its jacket foundation". The OHVS aggregates power from 72 wind turbine generators at Denmark's 1 GW Thor offshore wind farm. HSM fabricates the topside and jacket at its Schiedam yard in the Netherlands.
